PubSci:License

All papers published on PubSci are released under the [Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License] (CC-BY 4.0). This applies to the paper text, figures, tables, and any supplementary material submitted with the paper.

Authors agree to this license at submission. There is no other option. The reason is stated plainly: a permanent open record requires unconditional access. CC-BY 4.0 guarantees that anyone may read, copy, distribute, and build on any paper published here, provided they credit the author. Access cannot be revoked, restricted, or made conditional after publication.

Anyone may:

• Read and download any paper without restriction
• Share and redistribute papers in any medium
• Adapt, translate, or build on the work, including for commercial purposes

The only requirement is attribution: credit the author (pen name or institutional handle as listed on the paper), link to the original, and indicate if changes were made.

You retain copyright. CC-BY 4.0 is a license, not a transfer. You grant the public a permanent, irrevocable right to use the work under these terms. You may continue to publish the same work elsewhere; many journals accept work already published under CC-BY 4.0.

Reviews and inline annotations contributed by reviewers are also published under CC-BY 4.0. Reviewers agree to this at the time they submit a review.

The full body of papers, reviews, and annotations is available as open data for research and analysis.

The software running PubSci is separate from the content license. See the individual extension repositories for their respective licenses.
